maybe baby!

not quite yet!

oh so big

and the side view (a bit blurry, but you get the idea):

belly from the side

he is gonna be huge, i tell ya!!!

my mom is here and is totally dealing with the crazy pregnant lady...crazy isright - it feels like the night before my wedding, but this is much scarier!!! husband you can get rid of by way of divroce, babies? well... that way leads to jail, i think....should i test it?

alright - well i am not sure when you will hear from me again - but I will get Fritz to post obligatory cute baby pictures at some point....

the biggest question i have right now is....what will the baby wear home!!!!?????!!!!!

thank you

Just wanted to get a public thank you out to all of you who posted and sent me personal emails about my dad.
It really meant a lot to me.
I am not one who is very skilled at the flowery or the poetic or the good writing; and it is so kind to know that friends, family and friends of the blog world said such lovely things and sent positve thoughts, and all that :)

so thank you

“Lawzy, we got to have a doctor. I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' babies.”

In case you haven’t heard – I am having a baby. Scary, isn’t it? I think so.

And you know what is even scarier? The little Maximilian is scheduled for next Friday…NEXT Friday…that is one whole week until baby – that is, unless he decides to miss his beat and enter early well before his cue. I would like to think of my doctor as his own personal Stage Manager. There might even be a technical rehearsal next week if the stage decides to fully open and let it all go, but that would mean he would still enter backwards, more butt then feet this time. He is no longer standing on my pelvis he is now sitting. Guess his little fat legs got tired 

But he will get to see this lovely mural aka the TIGERENTE MALEREI:

IS THAT NOT just F&*^#@ awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot wait to get the curtains up and the crib and the dresser painted and the changing table built….. (Umm, Fritz, are you reading this? Because that is your list…)

Oh and I have got to finish the cute outfits:
Sock monkeys…needs a matching hat –

holiday themes:

And there is also a sushi outfit which I need to make a wasabi green hat to go with. According to Fritz, Babies taste good with Wasabi (while cats taste good with teriyaki sauce!)

And if anyone wants to see my fat arms and some cute baby items from friends and coworkers, there are pics from my baby shower here, and do not forget to check out the awesome onesie Yvette embroidered with the skull….This kid is going to have one hell of a wardrobe!!

sadness

I usually do not post things that are TOO personal since i am the type of person who really does not like her personal space invaded unless it is from people who i consider close (try working in theatre when you do not like to be touched all the time! oh AND pregnant :) )

But this is about my Dad - and this will effect (affect?) so many other things later.
My cousin sent out an email with this fabulous picture of my dad as a kid. I added the other ones :)

Love and miss you Daddy.

MILTON GREENE
October 13, 1939 - March 10, 2007

After a month long, hard fought battle with
multiple myeloma, our much adored Milt died
peacefully this afternoon at Clara Maass Hospital.

...

We then gathered at Janis's home and had a
Chinese feast in his honor.

it went fast!!!!! barely any left overs - he'd be so proud :)

4 weeks - possibly 2!!!

okay the new knitty is out and have you seen these socks!?!?!?!? Way too hard to follow during midnight feedings with newborn, I am sure but i so want to make them...NOW!!!!!!!!!!! (and of course I will have to knit this for Maximilian)

Oh my goodness!!! I was at the ob-gyn today and there might just be a chance of 2 weeks. You see, i am deformed :) on the inside and Maximilian is just lounging about and not in the mood to turn around. He is very relaxed in there and not interested in going anywhere...obviously Fritz's son :) - this might lead to inducing and all that fun stuff....so that might happen in 2 weeks instead of 4...so that is the baby news...

I have also made so many cute rompers and onsies, it is unreal and he will probably outgrow them sooner, rather than later. But I have no batteries to download from the camera and you would think that i would reload the software for the bluetooth on my camera phone since the the computer is back from the computer hospital..but now we have to get Verizon to let us back on the system...

so until all that goodness happens check out this lovely link to a local paper about knitting and woolwinders

we are so cool!!!!

5 weeks...scary

The baby is getting ready to enter downstage (think about it) any week now. But he is thinking more of a feet first kind of entrance at the moment, with his back to the audience (kind of like his mother). So maybe the lovely beginnings of this mural in his room will entice him out, head first:

You can see the beginnings of the Baer and the Tiger on their way to go fishing. The Chair is blocking the Froesch (frog) and Meghan is pencilling in the Tigerente down right. This weekend there will be paint!!! The image is from one of the Janosch books - Oh, wie schön ist Panama.

Since this past sunday looked like this:

..I stayed in bed all day and finished this:

Finally finshing more than just socks for the little boy to be. Sad, but true, Maximilian isn't even born yet and he gets his first cable sweater years before Fritz ever will :)

I started the sweater for a friend's baby 2 years ago and never finished it. I did the back and one front and then forgot all about it. And since I was making up the pattern as I went along, I couldn't remember what I had done in the first place when I found it again after moving last month. So after counting stitches and finding a post it note or 2 with notes about the cable pattern at least - I finished it this weekend. I CAN tell you that the yarn is a chunky cotton (Modial? I think) knit on size US 10.5 wooden needles. There is a 6 stitch cable that front twists every 4 rows. And there are 3 cables going down the back. I had sewn together the shoulders before picking up 32 stitches for each sleeve, knitting down towards the seed stitch cuff. The sleeves look awfully short and the sweater looks huge around, but oh well babies come in all sizes, so i am sure it will fit him at some point (*gulp* i hope!). Am thinking of putting in a zipper - so much easier than buttons or snaps! And just need to finishin sewing the side seams and it will be perfect!

I even started another sweater for the baby out of the self striping/fair isle regia sock weight yarn - and am half way there. Well one front and one sleeve that is - so maybe that is a third? Will need to get a picture of that soon too!

back to that whole work thing - need to do some sewing for non-baby things (bummer)
